Grab an ice cold butterfly tea first! We will start the tour from Chao Praya River, and time travel to the hidden Bangkok that 99% visitors will not know. You will taste 5+ selected street-foods during the route. Yellow curry noodle?The spicier the better! Cake by master Pi is nice and fresh. Seasonal fruits are juicy and sweet. Wat was fantastic. He grew up in this area. And, it's his tour. So, he has a connection to the neighborhood which gave it a personal feel. He's very knowledgeable and speaks very good English.
I almost gave this tour 4 stars. I had difficulty navigating on the bike. There was also a Thai/American on the tour. She wanted to practice her Thai with Wat. That's fine, but every time she and he talked Thai, the rest of us were basically excluded from the conversation. But, any good story has trials to overcome. And, in the end I did overcome my difficulties, with the help from the Holy Protection from the Wat Hong Rattanaram Temple water, which I poured over my statue.
While I didn't have time to process my surroundings while traversing the back alleys on the bike, I found that my brain was taking the sights in. Later that evening, after the tour was over, I did find myself remembering some of the sights that flew by.
It's definitely a different tour. Wat's connection to the neighborhood is what truly makes this a 5 star experience.
