Chao Phraya River
You’ll begin this Bangkok tour by walking to the pier, where you’ll board a longtail boat down the Chao Phraya River, also known as the River of Kings. The name of the river perfectly reflects this part of the tour; you’ll feel like royalty on your relaxing journey! This river is also the reason why Bangkok is known as the ‘Venice of the East,’ and you’ll explore this nickname further as you glide through the network of khlongs, or canals. Many of the khlongs have been filled in over the years and converted into roads. These roads have turned into little Thai communities, and as you swoop through the waters you’ll discover insights into these neighbourhoods. This area of Bangkok feels like a world away from the busy streets and chaos, and a welcome break from the bustling city centre!

The Grand Palace
You’ll continue by heading over to the Grand Palace. Strolling through the palace grounds feels like walking through an Asian version of Alice in Wonderland — the buildings are so beautiful they almost don’t feel real. But bet your bottom dollar, they’re real alright! Your local guide will tell you all about the history behind the palace and the most sacred Buddhist temple in Thailand, Wat Phra Kaew. This place is considered to be the spiritual centre of the nation, making it a visit that you cannot afford to miss.

Excellent tour, a must do in Bangkok

The tour guide Nine was excellent- knowledgeable and friendly. The tour progressed smoothly despite the on and off drizzle. The Grand Palace was large and required a bit of a walk, but Nine was able to tell us stories about the history and buildings. The river cruise on the Chao Praya was an eye opener, the river locks were fascinating. Wat Pho was awe inspiring. We had a good time and felt we covered a lot of ground despite the rain.

Our guide A was very informative and interacted with us the whole time. Very helpful as i have a bad knee and was most concerned with our safety at all times. Lots of fun. An excellent guide we would recommend him as a guide for anyone
Excellent and fun tour.

We had a great time on this city tour with our super-informative and enthusiastic guide, Pam. We walked around the beautiful Wat Pho, took a ride on a city bus, had a boat ride in the river, and walked around the stunning Grand Palace. Our guide Pam was a wealth of knowledge, and she had boundless energy. Lots of fun.
Real Local Experience

I came across this tour after a recommendation from a fellow traveller and I was thoroughly surprised on an area of the city I haven't yet come across in the time I have been in Bangkok.
A much more relaxing way to explore the city on a traditional longtail boat, which is owned by a local, and with the help of the guide, they shared their own stories which helped to provide a real local experience. After the boat, we were taken to the enchanting Grand Palace and learnt more about the Buddhism.
As a solo traveler, I really enjoyed seeing an alternative area of the city, away from all the crowds, with real local people.
Fun and meaningful - must see!
