Overview

Colors of Bangkok, our popular half day cycling in Bangkok tour. Biking in Bangkok's green lung gives the participants the feeling they are miles out of town yet, the hustle & bustle of the town is very near. Bangkok as you have never imagined!
The first part of our journey is on Rama III Road itself where our office/lounge is located but only for a few minutes because the ferryboat to cross the river isn’t far away.
At the other side of the river we find ourselves in Bangkrachao sub-district. Bangkokians also call this area “The Green Lung of Bangkok” or the “Bangkok’s green jungle”. It is the biggest & greenest area near the city.
Here we cycle on elevated pathways through lush vegetation and in the shade of coconut palms and banana trees. The first stop in Bangkrachao is a local, non-touristy Buddhist temple with a history dating 700 years back. There's much more to tell you about Colors of Bangkok but above all it will be an unforgettable experience for young and old! Join us

Wat Yannawa
Not the Wat but the district! This part of Bangkok is part of the business districts. We'll ride through small communities and backstreet roads avoiding as much as possible the daily traffic. By doing so you will get to places normally any tourists will come. Visit a local elementary school in a very narrow street.

Chao Phraya River
Like all urban rivers, the history of the Chao Phraya is intertwined with the city it flows through. The original site was chosen by early settlers because of its fertility and abundant fish. Later King Taksin, after the fall of Ayutthaya to the Burmese, located his new capital here, on the western banks today known as Thonburi. In 1782 King Rama I, finding the eastern banks more favourable, founded modern Bangkok and celebrated the occasion by building some of the world's most beguiling temples. Later still the canals it feeds became famous, earning Bangkok its 'Venice of the East' epithet. And, meanwhile, eminent Western authors like Maugham, Conrad and Coward were singling out the Chao Phraya as one of their favourite spots in the Far East. We will cross this river twice by long-tail boat.

Bang Krachao island is a green oasis right in the heart of Bangkok. This urban jungle is actually visible from the higher floors of many apartment blocks along Sukhumvit Road, Sathorn Road and Narathiwat Road, however, it remains unknown to most travelers.

Bang Krachao is nothing like the tropical paradise of Koh Lipe or Koh Kood. However, it is unique and amazing in its own right.

Bang Krachao is actually a man-made island located in the Chao Praya River. Years ago a canal was cut allowing cargo boats to shorten their journey along the river. Bang Krachao is commonly referred to as the "Lung of Bangkok", this is due to the huge amount of trees which eat up the city’s air pollution. There are thousands of mangrove trees around the perimeter of the island and plenty more jungle within the island itself.

In a rapidly developing city, Bang Krachao is one place which has managed to withstand change. So, you better visit before it’s too late!

Sri Nakhon Khuean Khan Park And Botanical Garden
Sri Nakhon Khuean Khan Park and Botanical Garden is located in Bang Kachao Sub-District, Samut Prakan Province with an area over 200 Rai. This place was established for being the source production of fresh air, the public park for relaxing and exercising for the people. Also, it is a place for ecosystem education on plant species and animals both local and within nearby area. Therefore, it compares as one of an oasis for the city people who want to experience nature, the local way of life and escaping Bangkok’s chaos.

The garden’s characteristic is a combination of public parks that the landscape has been arranged beautifully. It consists of aquatic plants, local plants that are able to grow within brackish water and preserve the original agricultural garden which was the original fruit garden. This park and botanical garden is a Greenfield that the government declared to be “the lungs of Bangkok.” A wooden bridge is for visitors to stroll on peaceful and shady area, including the 7 meters high tower view that can capture the whole scenery of this area. Other than the botanic garden, there is so Bang Nam Phueng Floating Market which opens every Saturday and Sunday (we visit this on our Weekend edition).

Not your usual bangkok!

Highly recommend for anyone who wants a different side of bangkok. We cycled on the main road (safe), down small tiny alleys in between houses, into and around the village. It was an eye opener.
Only tip: cycle slowly and take in the sights

Im a noob cyclist and i survived w 0 scratches.
Special thanks to both Tor!
A great insight into Bangkok

A great insight into lots of aspects of Bangkok - local communities, temples, boxing and a beautiful green park. Lunch was delicious (I had a vegan Pad Thai with tofu) and we were constantly offered drinks for refreshment. I would definitely recommend this tour, but just beware some paths were very narrow so you have to be a decent cyclist to keep on track!
Amazing behind the scenes, upclose and personal Bangkok cycle tour.

This was an absolutely brilliant cycle tour. We had a superb guide Tor who was very informative and adapted the speed as necessary. It gave us a unique insight into parts of Bangkok rarely seen by Western travellers. Highly recommend this for getting off the beaten track and seeing real life in Bangkok. The bikes were new and very comfortable.
Colours of Bangkok-don't miss it

Had the most amazing insight into another side of Bangkok, with a very knowledgable guide Oliver and Fearn(?) who also was our own personal photographer! Not overly exertion at all so suitable for all abilities, and we stopped for a light lunch too (all included). Great experience and couldn’t recommend it enough! Fun team in the office too, thanks for a super morning.
Excellent safety conscious trip!

Highlights: excellent local knowledge. Vegan / vegetarian friendly. Safety conscious. Friendly.

We had a really great time on this tour. Our guide Bee was excellent at guiding us around the maze of streets and paths. He was very conscious of our safety and really wanted to help us understand the culture of the area and of Bangkok. I've been to Bangkok before (and on tours) and learnt many new things - which as a teacher I really appreciated!

The meal was lovely in the local restaurant. As two (plant based vegetarians) Bee made sure we were able to order a dish that was suitable to our needs and communicated with the kitchen. He even helped us with our taxi on the way home. Would definitely book again with them!
super tour

see beautiful places which you would never find. Relaxed cycling and having fun together. New bikes, good quality
Great biking tour in (for us) unknown parts of Bangkok!
VosLianda, 01-08-2022
Great experience this biking tour in a quiet part of Bangkok, crossing the river with our bikes. We went through the jungle, visited a temple and a floating market and a Thai boxing training place. Our guide was very friendly and had a lot to tell. Good bikes as well.
Different side of Bangkok
Linda_K, 30-05-2022
It was nice to get away from the city. The tour guide, V., was great. The path was pretty narrow with a lot of turns so you need to have good bike handling skills. Would not recommend for anyone under 16. We stopped for a meal in the beginning of the tour so don't eat before. The local restaurant had really good food. Bring water so you don't get dehydrated.
