Overview
This tour is perfect for someone who wants to experience a boat ride on the smaller water ways, Bangkok Canals. It will be a relaxing experience to get on the boat and go see how Thai people live by the canal-side. You will see different sceneries of houses, temples, greeneries, bridges, local people, birds, and sometimes monitor lizards. The boat will take you to an orchid and pandan farm for you to stroll then stop at the in front of temple to feed thousands of fish! The boat will come back to the same pier as it departs.

Soon we were moving along the narrow Khlongs (Canals) of old Bangkok - Thonburi area (old capital of Thailand).
The Klongs were established in the Ayutthaya period from 1534 to facilitate transport & communication
Our James Bond famous longtail boat (Rua hang yao) meander through the fascinating labyrinth of canals. Along these ancient waterways we past interesting traditional fragile wooden homes on stilts, on the verge of collapse if the winds were strong. Jutting out over the water with no windows the inhabitants are happy and wave to us with warm smiles on their faces - timeless local life.
Hidden amongst the lush green canopy are places of Cultural & historical significance as well as giant monitor lizards either laying in the sun or slithering around the many canals.
We stopped by one of the temples and participated in the Thai custom of fish feeding for luck.
Great relaxing authentic experience.
Highly recommend this tour - although unguided, Captain Kob was still very friendly and informative.
We had 3 young children on board - 5years, 2 years and 10months and they all had a great time.
You see, unfortunately, a lot of rubbish, poverty and decay.
It is anyhow an worthy experience to understand- a bit - how local life is on such canals.
Kids loved feeding the catfishes ;-)
